In this rapidly changing field of contemporary graphic design, our program offers professional skills combined with exposure to cultural issues relevant to the field. Through a range of tiered courses, students acquire abilities in the essentials of design, a love of typography, current software usage, best practices in design for screens, devices and printed matter. An exploration of current aspects of human-centered design and ethical questions encourage good citizenship with a larger perspective. Understanding historical precedents gives students a context for their own design work, while examining the relationship between design and commerce prepares them for their career ahead. Students are encouraged students to develop ongoing cultural-awareness, individual areas of stylistic proclivities and personal design-passions, thus opening avenues for ongoing self-development and professional achievement.
