Art—B.F.A. Degree, Concentration in Photography

Photography engages students in a thorough immersive program covering the scope of the medium and its relationship to visual and media literacy. Students gain expertise in analog and digital darkroom operations, camera and lighting use, and professional production of photographic and photo-based work. Photography is a constantly evolving field and students are encouraged to create imagery and materials in combination with traditional and alternative photographic processes and tools. Emphasis is placed on students developing the ability to articulate their motives and intentions, to be aware of historical and contemporary photographic practice and to consider the social, political, and cultural implications of images and image making.
