Students are encouraged to schedule an appointment from home, or just stop by The Writing Center on the first floor of Guarini Library (across from Cortaditos) to see what we're all about and schedule a one-on-one session with one of our trained tutors.

Â鶹ÒùÔº The Tutors
The Writing Center tutors are a blend of NJCU undergraduate students, alumni, and academics who hold advanced degrees or are currently working toward advanced degrees. Tutors work as General Writing Tutors in the Center, as well as in classrooms as Embedded Tutors.
Writing Center tutors receive ongoing training to develop student-centered, inquiry-based skills for supporting writers of all sorts. Focusing on higher order concerns of ideas and argument, organization and development, audience and use of evidence, tutors help clients develop their writing process and gain understanding of rhetorical strategies. Writing Center tutors do not edit student papers.
Tutors work one-on-one with students, in person or online. More experienced tutors also lead workshops, developed collaboratively by the tutoring staff.
